The Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti though today agreed to hold talks with the government after an invitation was extended to its leadership but there was still no let up in protests and demonstrations which further spiraled and spread across the rural areas of the region.
It was after full one month of the present agitation that the talks have been officially initiated by the government. A proposal for dialogue was put before the Samiti leader Leela Karan Sharma at Geeta Bhawan here today by Principal Secretary Home Anil Goswami and the Director General of Police Kuldeep Khoda. Neither Samiti leaders nor the government officials divulged any details of the talks.

Despite repeated strict warnings from Indian leadership, the Pakistani forces today once again violation ceasefire agreement as firing from other side has been reported in Nowgam sector of Kashmir.
The Pakistani forces opened fresh unprovoked firing at Indian positions along the Line of Control (LoC) in northern Kashmir, a day after army commanders of the two sides met to ease tension following a 16-hour exchange of fire in which an Indian soldier was killed.
Army spokesman Col S D Goswami said in Jammu that Pakistani troops fired at the Indian post in Naria in Nowgam sector on Wednesday morning, violating the ceasefire along the LoC.

Referring to the report which put Jammu and Kashmir at the infamous rank of second most corrupt state of India, the Governor NN Vohra today touched the same line which two former Chief Ministers –Ghulam Nabi Azad and Mufti Mohammad Sayeed –continued to harp at but could not bring any different.
