Saroori continues to be R&B Minister………....in hoardings! | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Sept 2: High profiled politician GM Saroori is no more a minister in the coalition government in J&K but he continues to be so, at least in the hoardings spread across the nook and corner of Jammu city, may be in his hometown Inderwal and parts of district Doda as well.
Giant hoardings with colorful pictures of the minister in gestures atypical of the politicians coupled with some praises of the state government, accolades for the Centre and Congress leadership and of course the main contents filled with own departmental achievements or the new things introduced after he became the minister…….!
The details in each hoarding are different and therefore not too boring. Interestingly in some hoardings, Saroori, who ceases to be the minister for the last over a week now, is seen with dignitaries no less than the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah himself in life size hoardings and banners that float in some areas. A different one, surely is the hoarding, or a huge Board precisely , erected just outside the Civil Secretariat premises. It is different, and perhap...

| | NC's 'Greater Autonomy' proposal as good as dead | | | Syed Junaid Hashmi
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sep 2: National Conference's principled political plank "Full Autonomy" is as good as dead going by the congress led UPA government's officially declared stand on the issue.
Significantly, it in consonance with the stand of BJP led NDA, of which NC was a part even after it had contemptuously rejected the autonomy proposal. Moreso, the leadership of National Conference which is sharing power in the state with congress has almost shut the talk on its favourite pre-election autonomy slogan. The fact that NC leadership is justifying the absence of any common minimum programme (which is a requisite of any coalition) with congress shows that it is ...

| | Human rights groups forget International Day of Disappeared | August 30 goes un-noticed | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sep 2: The on-going Kashmir agitation has not only affected business and education. It has adversely affected the work of the human rights defenders as well. This year they forgot the International Day of the Disappeared. The government ignored the day. Every year, at least two functions are held by different groups to mark the occasion. And every year the government reacts to their claims. But this year there was no claim and hence no official reaction.
Last year the Association of the Parents of Disap...
