30th North Zone Youth Festival
1/19/2015 12:16:53 AM
Syed Junaid Hashmi Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 18: 30th North Zone Youth Festival badly exposed lack of professionalism, commitment and creativity of the faculty members and other officials of University of Jammu who had been assigned task of preparing the students for this mega event. It seems that the only silver lining for the officials of Jammu University was keen interest shown by senior IAS officer Rakesh Gupta who is Principal Secretary to Governor. Himself an artist, Gupta took keen interest in the one act play item. The university officials could be easily seen falling over each other to grab the attention of Governor's man in the university. Such was the eagerness to get photographed with Gupta that one of the officials wanted Padamshree Awardee Prof. Ved Ghai to be shifted from the seat she was occupying. This enthusiasm was nowhere to be seen when the University teams were performing on-stage. And if the participants are to be believed, they had prepared on their own with little or no help from the officials who have been made incharge of providing opportunitie...

Issue of CM
1/19/2015 12:15:17 AM
Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 18: Senior Congress leader and outgoing Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad, who has lost his relevance not only in the state but also in the erstwhile Doda district, is, it seems, has turned against the media. His Saturday senseless attack on section of the media only points to his grudge against the media and indicates the level of his frustration and desperation following the defeat of his party, including his own massive defeat, in the Lok Sabha elections as well as a crushing defeat of the Congress in the Assembly elections, including the defeat of four Congress candidates in the erstwhile Doda district, which was till not-so-long-a...

ET doesn't need certificate
1/19/2015 12:15:01 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 18: Congress today launched a scathing attack on Early Times and blamed it for manufacturing stories against it. The party went a step ahead and in an apparent reference to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) it said that party has given a contract to Early Times to target Congress. The Congress leaders ignored the fact that ET has got the distinction of being the only newspaper in JK which has always highlighted the failures of all the political parties and has exposed big scandals involving top bureaucrats and politicians irrespective of their political affiliations. ET doesn't need a certificate from the leaders of such a party which has been out rightly reje...

University of Kashmir cheats students pursuing internship at New Delhi

The irony is that the students who have been sent to New Delhi to do the internship have to manage everything, from boarding to lodging within the limited stipend of Rs. 4,000 which is nothing but an act of cheating. "As per the University norms a student has to be paid Rs. 20,000 for doing the internship outside the state. But the Business School...
