TOP STORY OF THE DAY
Unprecedented: PDP MLC issues 'employment orders' on his letter pad
CMO endorses 'appointments'; Govt assures probe
8/26/2015 12:13:27 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 25: In an unprecedented incident which can bring embarrassment to the alliance government and PDP in particular, Saifuddin Bhat MLC of the ruling party has issued employment orders on his letter pad to as many as 22 people for the posts of chowkidaars and sweepers in the Health department. Astonishingly, these orders have allegedly been endorsed by the CMO Budgam. No action has yet been taken against any official nor has the MLC been questioned about his entirely 'out of jurisdiction' step which is also contrary to commitment of his own Chief Minister to transparency and accountability in the system. Sources said Bhat who was made PDP MLC this year has gone out of way in issuing orders to employ as many persons in the Health department, apparently with a purpose to further political ambitions. Surprisingly, he has inscribed his letter pad with credentials as MLC Khansahib, oblivious of the fact that MLC doesn't represent any political constituency. The brazen and bizarre move on his part remains that on his own he has ordered the persons he named in...

Assembly of Jammu
8/26/2015 12:13:15 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 25: Things in the neglected and discriminated against people of Jammu region are changing and changing very fast. There are cogent reasons to believe that the fed-up-with-the-present system of which the "betrayer" BJP is a part, the angry people may rise in revolt and demand status of statehood for the region. And the party which could take the lead could be the Jammu & Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP), which last Saturday organized an assembly of prominent citizens to ascertain their views on the plight of the people of Jammu region. The assembly expressed the view that statehood for Jammu region was the only solution to its age-old problem and that th...

Rahul's sudden love for Pak-shelling hit people more of a political stunt
8/26/2015 12:13:00 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 25: While the border dwellers in Jammu lost their lives in Pak shelling during the erstwhile UPA regime also, AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi never visited them but his sudden love now for the affected areas and families seems merely a political stunt aimed at grabbing media and public attention. His scheduled 3-day visit to the state begins tomorrow. Soon after his arrival here, he would go to Balakote in Poonch district, where six people were killed and scores wounded due to the Pak firing on August 15. While his sudden concern for the Pak-firing hit people is unlikely to achieve the desired result, he would surely gain attention of the affected populati...
