Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 21: The detained Kashmir-centric leaders have started giving written bonds to the authorities in the Valley to seek their release. According to media reports, 5 mainstream leaders and the Hurriyat dove Mirwaiz Umar Farooq have signed bonds that they won't indulge in any political activity. An analyst while talking to Early Times said Kashmiri leaders have been left with limited options, either they have to stay behind the bars or they have to fall in the line. The ones who are falling in the line are being released and the ones who are adamant continue to remain under detention. He said, "The leaders who have signed the bonds to seek their release are the same people who during all these years have spoken in different languages and have never made an attempt to prove their loyalty towards the country and their own people." Agencies NEW DELHI, Sept 21: A total of 273 militants are currently active in Kashmir, according to a list prepared by security agencies last week. Out of them, 158 are based in South Kashmir, 96 in North Kashmir and 19 militants in central Kashmir. At 166, the local militants outnumber the 107 foreign militants operating in Kashmir. The militants belong to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Hizbul Mujahideen (HuM), Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) and Al Badr outfits. LeT tops the list with 112 militants followed by Hizbul Mujahideen with 100 militants, Jaish-e-Muhammad with 58 militants and Al Badr with three militants.
