Jammu, Jan 23: Holding out a firm promise to the employees on hiking their pay packets in accordance with the Sixth Pay Panel, the Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather today minced no words in making the employees understand that government does not have sufficient funds to meet their demand immediately.
Rather, who has been appointed as Chief Minister’s interlocutor on the issue, said that meeting the demand of hiking pay with retrospective effect involves a financial implication of Rs 3800 Crores while the total internal revenue of the state stands at Rs 3000 Crores only.

JAMMU, JAN 23: The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced formation of Joint Task Force in collaboration with Confederation of Indian Industries for promotion of industry in the state.
The Chief Minister himself will be the Chairman of the Task Force with a senior past President from Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) its Co-Chairman. The Members of the Task Force will be prominent industrialists and national-level figures, local CEOs, economists and Government officials.

JAMMU JAN 23: Following a complaint of dereliction of duties, the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayats, Ali Mohammad Sagar today ordered suspension of the Block Development Officer Gurez.

Jammu, Jan 23: Hindustan Construction Company, HCC has bagged the prestigious 330 Mega Watt Kishenganga power project that is to be constructed in a joint venture with Halcrow Group Ltd, based in United Kingdom. The contract is on turnkey basis and is valued at 2726.49 crore rupees. The HCC-Halcrow Consortium will have a share in the ratio of 98:2 respectively.
