Jammu, Jan 23: Despite an alarming increase in the head and spinal injuries during the frequent road mishaps, the Government has failed to equip the department of neuro surgery in the Government Medical College & Hospital where such patients are referred from across the State to enable it to meet the rising contingencies.
While figures suggest that road mishaps claim 2 lives a day and leave 17 people injured everyday, it is shocking that there are only two neuro surgeons in the entire Jammu province to attend to critical head injuries.

Jammu, Jan 23: Mughal Road is seemingly becoming another Baglihar of Jammu and Kashmir with State Government revising the completion date on yearly basis since the day construction began in the year 1969. Now the new date is March 2013.
If the condition of the road is any indicator, this new deadline is merely to keep the public mind engaged. Despite being open for Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs), the road is in extremely bad condition and it is likely to take another two years for Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) to complete the work.
