| Sacked ENT head, continues as Principal GMC | | Deceased baby's family suspect miscarriage of justice | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 22: After removing Dr. Aniece Chowdhary from the post of head of ENT department, he doesn't have moral ground to continue as Principal Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, as he can influence the inquiry into death of one and half year old child who was under his treatment.
Dr Chowdhary was removed from the post of head of ENT department of GMC Jammu when media launched a campaign seeking his removal. However, in his capacity as Principal of the college he did not own responsibility of death of child who was undergoing treatment in his department. Rather he himself started inquiry to probe his own role which added insult to injury of the aggrieved family.
Sources in the Medical Education Department said that Dr. Chowdhary enjoys support of the Government is not in favour of removing Chowdhary from the post of GMC Principal.
"GMC principal can influence the witnesses in the case and may conceal material facts from the enquiry. The aggrieved family and all concerned have termed the enquiry as a mere eye wash.

| | | | How serious are appeals of return to Pandits? | | | | ET Report
JAMMU, Dec 22: Both the State Government and the Kashmiri separatist leaders have asked the migrant Pandits to return to their homes and hearths in the Valley. Such requests and appeals have also been made in the past by both the so-called moderate and the hardline separatist leaders. It has almost become fashionable for politicians to ask the migrants to return to their roots.
The history of migration is long and complex and yet there is no doubt in the minds of anybody including those who make such cosmetic appeals to the migrants that their return is not only difficult, but perhaps impossible.
Where do the migrant Pandits return to? Where are their homes and properties? In s...
| | | | BJP surrenders Nagrota constituency to NC conveniently...? | | Jugal 'makes it' to top post finally…! | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 22: The 'inevitable ' finally happened on expected lines with regard to election of State president of BJP. Jugal Kishore Sharma has been made as President for the J&K unit of party. Even as his name is being termed as 'unanimous' choice for the prestigious post, but the move has finally vindicated two major points- that BJP has surrendered the Nagrota constituency to ruling National Conference and NC leadership too managed to have its 'say' in the so called election for State president. The new president too is anyway in a far more advantageous position for more than one reason.
With culmination of State president polls, a hectic activity witnessed in entir...

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 22: If India is known for its vibrant democratic traditions and religious tolerance among people of diverse ethnic traditions, it is equally known for a land where even drinking water is not safe and protected. If the longevity of people in India has shown marked increase with gradual drop in the rate of mortality it is nothing but a miracle. It is nothing but God's benevolence because in India people are forced to bank on not only adulterated milk, milk products, contaminated vegetables and fruit but also spurious medicines.
Various vegetables are kept green and fresh with medicines that are harmful for people. But nobody is bothered about it. A latest su...

JAMMU, Dec 22: The essentially pro-separatist and pro-Pakistan Delhi-based Centre for Dialogue and Reconciliation (CDR) organized the so-called Cross LoC Civil Society Dialogue on Jammu and Kashmir in Jammu on December 14, 15 and 16. In this three-day-long "dialogue" nearly four dozen carefully selected persons, mostly from Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied-Jammu and Kashmir and the Kashmir valley, took part. About a dozen persons from Jammu province were also part of the "dialogue", but they were there, it is now more than clear, only to give legitimacy to the anti-India agenda the CDR had carefully prepared for the Jammu meet. The CDR, which is obviously funded by those whose single-...
