EARLY TIMES Jammu, Dec 24:The saffron brigade today made its message clear: it not only demands but would ensure J&K’s complete merger and integration with rest of India, a political assertion which is in contrast to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s posturing in the state Assembly. The historical Ekta Sankalp Rally addressed by the strong national delegation of the party undertook a solemn pledge to stand as a ‘rock’ against what they said all forces inimical to the accession of J&K with India. . “I assure the people of the state that a central committee of the party would be organized at Delhi which would tour the entire state into its deep interiors and listen to the grievances with possible solutions thereof,” said National BJP president Nitin Gadkari . This was the focus of almost all the stalwarts in their speeches who committed to stand ‘shoulder to shoulder’ in all pains and plights of Jammuites He guaranteed a ‘holistic fight’ for the people of Jammu and Kashmir in Parliament in the Centre and also promised to stride a mile further by taking up a legal fight too t...

No heart beats for Art 370 in Kashmir
12/25/2010 10:59:36 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 24: The people who demand abrogation of Article 370 do not know that in its present form it serves their interests. This is what a senior lawyer said during a discussion in a local hotel in the summer capital today. Article 370 of the Indian constitution that guarantees special status to the state is widely discussed across Jammu Kashmir yet again. The Kashmiris have shown total indifference. The people by and large believe that it serves no purpose. Article 238 that contained the heart and soul of Article 370 has been omitted from the constitution some fifty years ago. STARK REALITY RUSTAM EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 24: Kashmir-based separatist and “mainstream” organizations, including Jamat-e-Islami, APHC (M). JKLF, NC, PDP and so on, continue to express the view that no solution is possible without the involvement of Kashmiri Muslims. In fact, they have been only reiterating their old stand. They have not saying anything new. They have been saying so ever since Pakistan came into being and Jammu and Kashmir acceded to India as per the provisions of the Indian Independence Act of 1947.
