SRINAGAR, Mar 25: In a major breakthrough in the rape of a woman at an illegally operating clinic in Pulwama, Police have identified the victim as a patient and mother of two young children, arrested the already suspended Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr Ghulam Qadir Sofi, seized the mobile used in recording the crime, sent it for forensic analysis to FSL in Chandigarh and got statements of the amateur videographers recorded in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of Pulwama. Technology led the Police to discover that Dr Sofi had committed rape on his patient not only at a property belonging to Pulwama Auqaf but also in broad daylight in the holy month of Ramazan.
Informed sources revealed to Early Times that a team of Pulwama District Police has finally succeeded in identifying two persons, who had recorded a doctor's rape being committed on a young woman, as well as the victim of the crime who turned out to be mother of two young children and a patient of the CMO Pulwama, Dr Ghulam Qadir Sofi. The eight odd heavily-armed militants had sneaked into the Indian territory from Saryala Nullah in Jogwan Tuesday last, breaching the "tight" security on the Line of Control (LoC).

JAMMU, March 25: Foiling their bids to smuggle bovine animals, police Thursday arrested two persons along with 29 cattle in two incidents on the national highway in Kathua and Udhampur.
Police sources said two trucks (JK02Q/5097and JK02AA/1405), intercepted by cops at Lakhanpur, were found loaded with 18 milch animals, which were being smuggled from Punjab to Kashmir.
While all the occupants of the two trucks, including their drivers, managed to give cops a slip, the vehicles were seized.

NEW DELHI: An abrupt increase has been witnessed in infiltration attempts by the Pak-based militants from across the borders in Jammu and Kashmir since the beginning of this year.
At least 60 attempts were made by the militants to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir since January this year, sparking "serious concern" in the government.
All intelligence inputs suggest that desperate attempts were being made from across the border to make up for the "lull" in terrorism in 2009.
The abrupt jump in infiltration attempts between January 1 and March 20, 2010 led to 40 encounters between security forces and militants which left 38 ultras dead.
