Who will bell the cat, state government in dilemma | NHPC chairman arriving today | | Bashir Assad
JAMMU, Apr 3: It is beyond comprehension as to whether the state government is really committed to renegotiate the power sharing agreements with the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation especially in the backdrop of voting against the resolution moved by independent MLA Er. Rashid seeking transfer of power projects to the state . Though on one hand the state cabinet has approved the recommendations of the Cabinet Sub Committee seeking transfer of Salal, Uri and Dulhasti power projects to the state on depreciated cost, yet its opposition to Er. Rashid's resolution in the House has created more doubts than before about the real intentions of the government.

JAMMU, Apr 3: The promotion list of legal assistants in the government law department has allegedly been withheld by a senior functionary (SF) who awaits the appointment of his kin as a public law officer (PLO).
The legal assistants are to be promoted to the next rank of PLOs. Their withheld promotion list was likely to be released after the kin of SF in law department was appointed as PLO. Reason: The release of legal assistants' promotion list after the awaited appointment of SF's kin as PLO would make them all junior to him in service. This, in turn, would improve his promotion prospects.
Sources in the law department said some legal assistants had also moved...

JAMMU, Apr 3: For an artist recognition to his or her art work is more than any reward but renowned sculptor Ravinder Jamwal, who made the life-size statue of Maharaja Hari Singh, was not fortunate enough to receive the attention for his creation as the former was not invited for the unveiling ceremony of the sculpture on April 1.
If denial of invitation was not enough to feel 'humiliated', the eminent sculptor had to face more 'disgrace' during the unveiling ceremony as the organisers and leaders who spoke at the function did not even bother to mention a word of praise for his painstaking effort of about one year.
Speaking to Early Times, the visibly upset Jamwal minced ...
