Situation in the Kashmir Valley today showed some signs of normalcy even as the separatists decided to take a march towards the United Nations office where the local administration is making all efforts to thwart the move.
Governor N N Vohra reviewed the developments in the state and the movement of essential commodities by road. "There is no report of any untoward incident from any part of the Valley" this morning, official sources said.
Shops and business markets remained closed and public and private transport largely remained off the roads in Srinagar and other major towns in the Valley, the sources said.

As the separatist forces take over the Kashmir Valley in a bid to strengthen their base by cashing in on the ongoing agitation, the mainstream political parties are seeing their base slipping under the feet.

While entire separatist and mainstream political spectrum of Kashmir Valley is engaged in inviting international attention on alleged economic blockade, the government is making added efforts to ensure that supply of commodities to the Valley remains above normal.
More than 200 trucks on a daily average have both moved in or out of the Valley in past 15 days despite curfews and shut downs. The administration has already handed over the entire stretch of the National Highway to the Army to ensure supplies.
