SMC under scanner for 'sabotaging' bad weather preparedness

Early Times Report Srinagar, Nov 13: The Srinagar Municipal Corporation has come under scanner for allegedly sabotaging the administrative preparedness for the bad weather forecast as was made by the weatherman. Sources said the Raj Bhawan has got inputs that some officials in the civic body, who are accused of large-scale corruption and other maladministration, may have deliberately failed the administration to sabotage the good work of Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu. It was reliably learnt that the government has sought a detailed report from the administrant in this regard. Around a week ahead of the recent rough weather in Kashmir, the Metrological department had predicted heavy snowfall and rains in the valley issuing advisory for the administration to be ready. As with regard to the preparedness for the clearance of snow from colony lanes and bylanes and to prevent waterlogging in the summer capital of Srinagar, the SMC was directed to be at the tenterhooks.
