Srinagar, Jan 30: One-way traffic was restored this afternoon on the 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu national highway after remaining closed for some hours since this morning due to heavy snowfall.
A senior traffic police official said traffic had been resumed for one way on the highway, the only road linking Kashmir valley with the rest of the country.
He said traffic from Srinagar to Jammu had been allowed and added that vehicles from Jammu to Srinagar would be allowed tomorrow if the weather permitted.

One was that Pakistan's per capita water availability had decreased from 5,600 cubic meters in 1947 to just 1,200 cubic meters in 2005 and that by 2007, water availability in Pakistan "might touch the threshold level of 1,000 cubic meters". The same team had pointed out that the "worst affected areas are the Sindh and Punjab provinces".
Sundeep was of the view that Pakistan's fundamental "strategic interest in Kashmir is regulating the flow of water from the catchment area of the Chenab river, which falls in J&K.

Santosh Kumari was found hanging from the ceiling fan hook in her house at Bhagwati Nagar yesterday.
The hospital authorities constituted a board of senior doctors to conduct post-mortem on the body after her parents alleged that she had been tortured to death by husband Suresh Kumar.

Police sources said following heated exchanges between them, IRP cop Vijay Singh Bandral allegedly attacked Deepak Singh on his arm with a sharp-edged weapon and fled the spot.
