| Pak using OIC to rake up Kashmir | | | |

New Delhi, Sept 30: Pakistan is, indeed, trying to play the Islamic countries card vis-à-vis Kashmir through their broad outfit called Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) with utmost astuteness this time on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting held at New York.
According to reports reaching here, Pakistan Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, has addressed the OIC’s contact group on Kashmir, calling for an international probe into alleged killings by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir. Among other things he is reported to have also mentioned the double murder case of Shopian which is now being probed by CBI.

New Delhi, Sept 30: Home Minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday indicated that there was "progress" towards initiating talks with Kashmiri separatist groups but refused to give any details on the developments.
He was responding to queries from reporters whether Home Ministry was going to resume the stalled talks with separatists including that with Hurriyat Conference led by Mirwaiz Umar Farroq.
"At this stage I am not willing to share it in great detail but I will only tell you - Yes! there is some progress," Chidambaram told reporters in New Delhi.

Srinagar, Sept 30: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court Wednesday directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) not to share details of its probe into the rape and murder of two women near Shopian with the media but reveal it only to the court.
'The CBI should not reveal anything to the press about the investigations part of the Shopian case and should present status reports to the court,' a division bench of Chief Justice Barin Ghosh and Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir observed.

Bhardwaj has been appointed the vice chief bypassing the senior-most three-star general, Lt. Gen. V.K. Singh, who is tipped to become the Indian Army chief when incumbent Gen. New Delhi, Sept 30: Air India pilots called off their five-day strike today following assurances from the civil aviation ministry that there would be no salary cuts.
"We have received official communication from civil aviation minister (Praful Patel) and he himself has assured that there would be no salary cuts. So we immediately call off the strike," said Captain V.K. Bhalla, a senior executive pilot who was spearheading the strike.

It remains an ``unfinished agenda'' and the boundaries of the new districts, besides statistical data pertaining to them are all in a mess.
This becomes clear when one goes through the official websites of the various districts of Jammu & Kashmir. Leave aside other districts, even the data regarding the summer capital, Srinagar, given on the official website www.srinagar.nic.in, is inaccurate, incorrect and fudged.
