DHS's X-ray unit gathering dust at Rajiv Gandhi Hospital

Bijay Charak Jammu, Oct 4 : It could be called the overlooking of Director Health Service (DHS) Jammu, who seven months back provided an x- ray machine to Rajiv Gandhi Hospital Gangyal, which has not been installed due to non-availability of space for the equipment. Reliable sources informed Early Times that in March, 2014 DHS Jammu Director Dr. BS Pathina provided a x-ray machine to hospital. However, being aware about non-availability of adequate space for the equipment, procured it, which is laying in a corner of the hospital's premises. He further said that Engineers of the company form where the x-ray machine was procured had paid at-least four visits for installation of the equipment but all in vain. Sources said that on one hand department deducts two percent of total payment, if supplier delays one day in supply, but surprisingly the suppliers were waiting for payment for years. Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 3: Even as life here is back on the rails after the September 6 heavy rains and floods, the skating rink near Pir Kho, which is close to Tawi river, is still covered with slush, making it difficult for players to practice. The skating rink was also submerged by the flood waters but even after about 20 days of the things having become absolutely normal, it continues to be under the slush layer.
