| DHS's X-ray unit gathering dust at Rajiv Gandhi Hospital | | | | Bijay Charak
Jammu, Oct 4 : It could be called the overlooking of Director Health Service (DHS) Jammu, who seven months back provided an x- ray machine to Rajiv Gandhi Hospital Gangyal, which has not been installed due to non-availability of space for the equipment.
Reliable sources informed Early Times that in March, 2014 DHS Jammu Director Dr. BS Pathina provided a x-ray machine to hospital. However, being aware about non-availability of adequate space for the equipment, procured it, which is laying in a corner of the hospital's premises. He further said that Engineers of the company form where the x-ray machine was procured had paid at-least four visits for installation of the equipment but all in vain.
Sources said that on one hand department deducts two percent of total payment, if supplier delays one day in supply, but surprisingly the suppliers were waiting for payment for years. SRINAGAR, Oct 3: Minister of State (MoS) for Home, Sajad Ahmad Kichloo today dropped a bombshell by saying that state government has sanctioned an amount of Rs. 200 crores each for the flood affected people of Kashmir and Jammu divisions as part of the rehabilitation programme.
The announcement by MoS Home added insult to the injury of the people since the losses suffered by the people on different counts due to flood is estimated to be Rs 1,00,000 crores in Kashmir region alone. Jammu, Oct 3: Even as life here is back on the rails after the September 6 heavy rains and floods, the skating rink near Pir Kho, which is close to Tawi river, is still covered with slush, making it difficult for players to practice.
The skating rink was also submerged by the flood waters but even after about 20 days of the things having become absolutely normal, it continues to be under the slush layer.
Due to slush, the players are not in a position to start using the facility for their daily practice matches. Though they have approached the local authorities to clear the rink of the slush, till date no major headway has been made.
