Barve, Kak & Malik cannot unsettle the settled in Jammu & Kashmir
Learning From Sir Creek Debate
12/16/2012 12:37:26 AM
Rustam JAMMU, Dec 15: The Executive Director of the Delhi-based highly questionable Centre for Dialogue and Reconciliation (CDR) Sushobha Barve may bring to Jammu controversial persons like former Air-Vice Marshal (Retired) Kapil Kak and former Chief Justice of the High Court of the so-called Azad Kashmir and organize discussions on such dubious and sinister themes as "Multiple Stakeholders", but she and others, who have been funding such mischievous exercises would surely come out of such exercises minus everything. They just can unsettle the settled in Jammu and Kashmir. For, an overwhelming majority of the people in Jammu and Kashmir is an ardent believer in the concept of India and Indian sovereignty and those who have been targeting the Indian state constitute only a minority, if not a microscopic minority. Only the leadership of one particular religious sect is opposing India and things Indian. Barve and others of her ilk must recognize this stark reality and hold aloof from Jammu and Kashmir. They are simply striving to achieve the unachievable. The CDR may mint e...

12/16/2012 12:35:37 AM

Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 15: With uncertainty over fate of existing Assembly complex after collapse of its major portions few days back fuelling the speculations that a full Budget session might be convened in Srinagar as one of the options under Government consideration, Jammu based legislators are all set to oppose any such move contending this would amount to negating age old practice and precedence besides undermining the importance of the winter capital. Shinde for effective measures to eliminate LeT, HM militants

Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 15: If the latest assessment made by the Union Home Ministry about the security environment in Jammu and Kashmir is any guide one may have to believe that India's northern state is yet to be free from militancy related activities and violence. No doubt the Home Minister, S.K. Shinde, has admitted that the security situation in the state has improved, he does not want the security forces to show any complacency and that too in the light of reports indicating that groups of militants were waiting across the LoC and the IB for crossing into Jammu and Kashmir. Shinde has been very specific about the activities of militants when he said that militant outfits l...

The finger is being pointed towards the Rural Development Department and the ex sarpanch, who allegedly connived to embezzle funds. Hit by the dysfunctional...

Senior Congress leader and Irrigation Minister Taj Mohi-ud-Din has taken a clear stand on the issue and would, according to a report, want to recommend that the NC and the Congress sh...
