Jammu, Dec 23: Clean chit in Kishtwar clashes swiftly followed by re-induction of Sajjad Kitchloo may have caused ruffles within his own party NC with some leaders nourishing apprehensions that the move is going to fetch much gains to the party. Whether these are real or unfounded is something NC high command must have given heed prior to taking this decision. However, contrary to the general impression that the move has damaged electoral prospects of Congress, there is beyond what looks on the political screne and calculations. This is learnt to have been done with consent of Congress which is tandem with its ruling ally in deciding the timing and tone of what emerged on Friday and Saturday.
According to sources, what emerged with respect to Kitchloo in terms of he getting a clean chit and later losing no time getting berth in the council of ministers in Omar Abdullah led coalition, was not solely decided by the Chief Minister and NC alone. Sources said Congress consent and nod was given to the move which shook the political circles yet again, in parleys much...

| | | | How long can NC run with dare and hunt with hound? | | | | early times report
Jammu, Dec 23: Finally Dr. Mustafa Kamaal of the NC has found the ultimate answer to the Kashmir dispute. In an interview Kamaal has said the UN resolutions on Kashmir are still relevant and plebiscite (Rai Shumari) is still an option to solve the dispute.
It has always been typical of the NC and its leadership to rake up issues like plebiscite, autonomy, Kashmir dispute, Muzaffarabad road and other issues to stir up emotions for political benefits around election times.
It is very strange that the same party (read NC) has ruled Jammu and Kashmir for decades and been beneficiaries of both the turmoil and the resulting agreements with New Delhi should be cribbing about...
