| In a bid to appease Valley, Center joins discrimination drive against Jammu | | 22 cr for DD Kashir, 2cr for DD Jammu! | | |
KUNAL SHRIVATSA
JAMMU, Dec 5:
Inertness of the Center towards the sustained discrimination that the Jammu region has been subjected to by successive state governments for over six and a half decades has aggravated the pain and anguish of the people of the region. However, it is amplified further when Center itself discriminates against Jammu region to appease the valley.
Believe it or not, the height of unfair treatment to Jammu region by the Center could be gauged from the fact that the Union Government provides a paltry amount of Rs 2 crore only per annum to ‘full-fledged’ Doordarshan Kendra, Jammu for running its affairs while its counterpart Kashir Channel is getting hefty amount of Rs 20-22 crore annually. This startling revelation came to fore through senior Congress leader and President Dogra Sadar Sabha, Gulchain Singh Charak, who was addressing a press conference here today at Press Club.
Alleging discrimination with Doordarshan Kendra (DDK) Jammu in budget allocation, Gulchain Singh Charak today sought more funds for DDK, Jammu as well as launching of an exclus...

jammu, Dec 5: As debate over article 370 has snowballed into a big political conspiracy, BJP seems to be have successfully trapped Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in its net by reminding Chief Minister of March 11, 2004 episode.
Senior BJP leader Dr Nirmal Singh has put a very genuine question before Omar Abdullah about his and his father Dr Farooq Abdullah's role when debate on 'The Jammu and Kashmir Permanent Resident (Disqualification) Bill 2004 was going on in Upper House'.
It was reported and factually correct that Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah, who was acting president of National Conference at that time, were sitting in the gallery of the Legislative Council so tha...

Early Times Report
Srinagar, Dec 5: Claiming to secure absolute majority and being under no compulsion to enter into an electoral tie-up with any political party until the other day, Congress party in Jammu and Kashmir is still not coming out the shock it suffered due to the BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's first public rally in Jammu on December 1. There has been no Congress rally since last Sunday.
Barring a comment extorted from him by some mediapersons, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee president Prof Saifuddin Soz has thought it prudent to remain tightlipped. He has a reason: None of the party's ministers in it's real bastion of Jammu has gone proactive to...

SRINAGAR, Dec 5: As many among different batches of Agricultural officers recruited on Gazetted posts since early 90's are denied their due share of promotions, blue eyed candidates recruited on non Gazetted posts are enjoying higher appointments in the Agriculture department and the department has conveniently defied directions of the State High Court and recommendations of the probe panels.
Three batches of Agriculture Officers recruited in 1989, 1991 and 1998 were recruited through State Public Service Commission mostly on gazetted posts and as per laid norms were supposed to get their due share of promotions as per canons of the department.

Early Times Report
jammu, Dec 5: BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's comment on Article 370 has stirred the political waters not only at the national level but also at the local level in J&K with almost all parties engaged in uproarious tones for the last few days. As the remarks have irked ruling National Conference most, its rank and file is provoked to the extent that no leader nor any platform is left untouched by strong and provocative reaction. Minutes after Modi made this comment on December 1, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was the first to react which was followed by a chain of such knee jerk reactionary sentiment every day. Even today when the party convened functi...

JAMMU, Dec 5: The Sonia Congress and her men and women have disowned Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi and adopted a policy that is designed to help the communalists in Kashmir separate Jammu & Kashmir from India and establish there an Islamabad-type government to decimate and persecute the non-Muslim minorities. How else should one interpret the stand the Congress leaders, including Ghulam Nabi Azad, Harish Rawat, Manish Tiwari, Digvijay Singh, Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Sanjay Jha, Abdul Gani Vakil, to mention only a few, have taken on the BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's suggestion that time has come to hold a debate on Article 370 to find if this has helped the state and...

Srinagar, Dec 5: The official website of Baramulla district is no different from the Law department's website. It portrays wrong, obsolete and misleading information especially related to Right to Information Act (RTI).
The administrator of the website has made a blunder by carrying a copy-pasted information related to RTI handbook from General Administration Department (GAD) website as it makes no sense by posting the same on official website of Baramulla district.
The district website has an RTI column on the main page and after clicking the same four items related to J&K RTI Act 2009 i.e. J&K RTI Act 2009, amendment, RTI Rules 2010, Fee structure, guidelines for PIO...
| | | | Omar twisting facts, debate on Article 370 to shift glare from governance | | | | Early Times Report
jammu, Dec 5: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has been charged by PDP and BJP of deliberately raking up the debate on Article 370 to shift the focus of state debate from governance. He has probably taken a cue from the elections of the four states where local issues and governance mattered most and this is some thing which Omar Abdullah knows doesn't work in his favour.
Article 370 has become an emotive issue and the same was emphatically stated by BJP president Rajnath Singh. BJP Prime Ministerial candidate who only stated that there should atleast be a debate on this Articleicle, had also said it had become a pill to absolve sins of misgovernance like starting a debate o...

Notwithstanding claims of National Conference leaders attempt to undermine importance of Narendra Modi, it is a fact that BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate has set political agenda not only for national politics but for State politics also and all parties are forced to follow that agenda.
During 108th birth anniversary function of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan here this morning, speakers started their speeches by criticising...
| | | | NC did not negotiate accession with India | | Beg's weak assertion | | | Rustam
JAMMU, Dec 5: National Conference (NC) MP Mehboob Beg, who hates India and the Indian laws and consistently preaches communalism, one day speaks one lie and on other day another lie to mislead the people hoping he would carry conviction with them. This has not happened. Nor will it happen in the future as well. One day, he talks about the non-existent Delhi Agreement and the next day, he makes another ridiculous claim.
The other day, Beg asserted that Jammu & Kashmir had another option but it did not exercise that and instead, negotiated the terms of accession to join the "secular" Indian Dominion. By other option, he meant Muslim Pakistan. He did not inform the people that Sheikh...
