Believe it or not –the state government has plans to construct 4000 classrooms for 1000 newly upgraded schools in a record time of four months. In an election year, if this claim of the state government proves true, this will be perhaps an unbeatable record in itself and can emerge as one of the biggest feat ever to sell in the poll season.
Not only this massive education infrastructure plan, the government has something for health sector as well. 100 Primary Health Centers and 200 Ayurvedic Dispensaries are also on the plan.
This entire infrastructure construction plan will involve an expenditure of Rs 300 Crores. The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development has agreed to offer loan for this massive construction.
A decision to this effect was taken at a high level meeting here today. Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, Union Minister of State for Finance Pawan Bansal and Chairman of the NABARD vetted the decision which was attended by top functionaries of the government.

It is not only surprising but rather intriguing that several persons in the past have made their entry into the government service at the age of just 14 years although the prescribed minimum age for entry has been fixed at 18 years.
A cursory look of the advertisement issued by the General Administration Department and published by a section of local dailies here today notifying the seniority list of the section officers of heads of departments reveal that some of the officials have entered into government service much before attaining the eligible age.

Reopened after 57 years to allow divided families to meet, the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road, connecting two parts of Jammu and Kashmir, is all set to be thrown open for cross-border trade between India and Pakistan.
The bus service between the two cities named 'Carvan-e-Aman', is completing three years of its launch on Monday. The trade via the Line of Control will be a reality within three months.
"I hope, we will have trade along the LoC within 90 days. There are no bottlenecks and no logistics problem in starting the trade," Union Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh said.

Amidst hectic preparations and security drills, the wish lists are being prepared in several quarters as Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh is all set to be in the town towards the end of this month.
Official sources confirmed to EARLY TIMES that the Prime Minister will be coming in April 25. The Prime Minister was earlier scheduled to be here on March 25 but the program was deferred by a month. This will be Prime Minister’s second visit to Jammu region within one year. Earlier last year he had come at the Special Convocation of Jammu University in July.
