TOP STORY OF THE DAY
End and not add to peoples' problems in Jammu & Kashmir
6/29/2014 12:05:46 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, June 28: When the Union Minister of State, Dr Jitendra Singh, stated that Article 370 was very much alive in the party's poll manifesto it was an indication of the BJP trying to secure as many seats from the region of Jammu as can be possible for the party that has been plagued by factionalism, gradual emaciation in its vote bank despite its victory from the two Lok Sabha seats in the region of Jammu and from one seat in Ladakh. In fact if the state unit of the BJP, which has lost its political weight and vigour, won the three seats it contested from the regions of Jammu and Ladakh it was the result of Modi wave that had hit these two regions. It was simply the magic of the Modi wave that a political heavy weight like Ghulam Nabi Azad had to lose to a light weight Jitendra Singh. Yes, factional feud within the state unit of the Congress had also contributed to the BJP victory but essentially it was the Modi wave that motivated people, rather voters, to vote for change, which had been promised by Narendra Modi. By saying that the BJP may whip up the iss...

Mission 44+ of BJP factually not possible
6/29/2014 12:04:59 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, June 28: As the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) is making a fuss of mission 44+ in the state, the party must face the reality as from where they can earn these seats. This is only a poll gimmick which the BJP leaders of Jammu, whose base is shattered and doesn't have any image in front of people, are trying to bring a false feel among people of the state. Going by facts available, one can judge with this simple code that Jammu region has only 37 Assembly constituencies and even if a party, like BJP, wins all these seats, its mission 44+ will not be achieved. If two seats of Leh district are added into this tally, still this mission can't be achieved. During the ...

NC sells Sher-e-Kashmir at Thanamandi
6/29/2014 12:04:37 AM
Early Times Report thanamandi, June 28: After tasting defeat in the Parliamentary elections, National Conference has been forced to talk about Sher-e-Kashmir excessively. During the three public meetings in Jammu region addressed by Devender Rana and the Planning Minister Ajay Sadhotra, more stress has been laid on the achievements of Sher-e-Kashmir than Dr Farooq or Omar Abdullah. It conveys that the NC has nothing to sell to the people. Pidram Sultaan Boud (My father was great) is a Persian adage and it fits beautifully to the NC of today. But the Ranas and Sadhotras must know that selling Sher-e-Kashmir may win a few votes in some parts of Jammu region but in the Valley, it will back...

Cong, NC, CPI-M insulting the Jammu & Ladakhi electorate
Refusing to learn lessons from past mistakes
6/29/2014 12:04:28 AM
Rustam Jammu, June 28: Neither the defeated NC nor the rejected Congress seems to have learned any lesson from the past mistakes. Even the CPI-M, which is of little consequence, as it has as its members a few hundred fake comrades inhabiting a couple of pockets in Kulgam Assembly constituency in Kashmir. The Congress leaders like Ghulam Nabi Azad and the so-called NC leaders like Devendra Singh Rana, who have crossed all the lines by creating an impression that they are more loyal than the king, of attributing the defeat of the Congress and the NC candidates in the Lok Sabha election to polarization that took place on the eve of, during the election period and on the election day and they ...

6/29/2014 12:04:14 AM

While Congress has too many contendors vying against each other to secure ticket and contest from Jammu East, BJP post recent developments is also looking for a 'substitute' which may be acceptable to the people of the constituency. Who is ‘qadardaan’ of the corrupt?
6/29/2014 12:03:50 AM
Early Times Report srinagar, June 28: National Conference has said that the three year chaotic rule of Mufti Sayeed as the Chief Minister of the State was the most corrupt tenure of a Government in the State's history. Without advocating Mufti Sayeed's cause here, it needs to be mentioned that the state got the dubious distinction of being the second most corrupt state in India in Omar's rule. The NC leader Mustafa Kamaal said Mufti was qadardaan of corrupt bureaucrats. However, Kamaal forgot the CET scam and the BOPEE chairman, Mushtatq Peer who was given extension after extension by the NC led coalition Government. Here an attempt is not being made to defend a particular person. Howe...

Children of lesser GOd !
6/28/2014 10:47:16 PM
Avinash Azad Jammu, June 28 : The insensitivity on part of a self claimed champion of Jammu, could be easily gauged from a protest demonstration held outside Rani Park, wherein the self styled leader employed two minor children for beating drum and rattle, to amplify impact of his protest on media persons. This self claimed champion of Jammu, is president of Shiv Sena and Dogra Front Ashok Gupta, the head of two organizations, elections for which are reportedly never held in Jammu, even since the beginning of the Organization. Famous for organizing protests off and on, over varied issues and that too at his favorite place outside Rani Park near his residence, Ashok Gupta, is always hung...
