This is being done to ensure that the deserving people get the money and no bungling whatsoever takes place. Sources told Early Times that Government of India is working out on a proposal for providing package to the flood affected people of state. The package would be announced as and when the assessment is done in all the areas and the compiled report is presented to the concerned stake holders. "The State Government would be entrusted with the responsibility of providing rehabilitation money to the flood affected people out of the funds meant for disasters. On the other hand the maximum amount for the flood hit people would be provided by the Government of India and it would be ensured that the rehabilitation money lands in deserving hands," said sources. Sources said that some top bureaucrat from New Delhi would lead a team of top notch officials and they would distribute the rehabilitation money among...

No meeting with Pak Premier, no interlocutor for J&K
Strong messages
9/24/2014 11:09:45 PM
Neha JAMMU, Sept 24: Two developments of great import took place on Tuesday. Both suggested that New Delhi's policy towards Pakistan and Kashmiri separatists has undergone a substantial change. If on the one hand, the Indian Foreign Office (IFO) said that there were no plans for a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) during the Modi's forthcoming visit to the United States, on the other hand, the Union Home Minister rejected outrightly the idea of appointing any interlocutor for Jammu and Kashmir state. `NC led coalition Government is a total failure'
9/24/2014 11:09:31 PM
Shakeel A Khan SRINAGAR, Sept 24: The National Conference (NC) lead Government has proved to be a total failure with Omar Abdullah winning the dubious distinction of becoming the weakest Chief Minister of the state. Even after the 21 days when the flood hit the Valley, there is no clue about the Government machinery which has failed to deliver in this hour of crisis. State Government was the first to be submerged by J&K floods
9/24/2014 11:09:08 PM
Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Sept 24: Although historical records prove the flood of 2014 has been the worst recorded flood in Jammu and Kashmir after the one that hit the Valley in 1893, yet there are questions that the State Government cannot escape answering because a natural calamity of such a huge magnitude has struck the state. The flood waters those entered the summer capital Srinagar virtually from all sides on the intervening night of September 6 and 7 did not only submerge commercial and densely populated residential areas, but also submerged the State Government that took more than four days to even announce that it still existed. All the important installations, administrativ...
