Sumit Sharma Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 24: Management of Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences (ASCOMS) here has put the Crime Branch in tight spot by filing a fresh application to seek re-investigation into a six year old case which was lodged against the institute in 2010. Sources told Early Times a scam at ASCOMS had come to fore in 2010 when the then Additional Secretary Health and Medical Education Department lodged a complaint with IGP Crime alleging that illegal practices were being carried out by the management of ASCOMS, Sidhra by way of incorporating wrong entries in the OPD in patient department registers and by showing dead person admitted and treated in the hospital. Based on the complaint lodge by the government Crime Branch Jammu registered FIR 19/2010 against Management and officers/ officials of ASCOMS Sidhra under section 420/467/468/471 r/w section 120-B RPC and started investigations. Preliminary inquiry had found that some dead persons were shown admitted in hospital records just to enhance the strength of patients in the hospital. ...
