This stands true for Revenue officials of Jammu and Kashmir who have begun manipulating records, preparing fake loss assessment papers and recommending fake relief cases. Sources said that Revenue officials in league with certain little known leaders and village Sarpanches have begun preparing false and fabricated flood relief cases. They added that Peanuts are being recommended for those who have lost houses as well as livestock in the areas where floods have caused devastation while huge amounts are being recommended for those greasing palms of Revenue officials. In a case involving two Patwaris indulging in preparing of fake relief cases for the recent floods, sources said that Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Jammu South (Gangyal) Shahid Mehmood suspended both the Patwaris. The two Patwaris included Shabir Hussain of Chak Lala Patwar Halqa in tehsil Bishnah and Kewal Kumar of Narwal Bala Patwar Halqa in Tehsil Bahu. Army wanted to kill Kashmiri Muslims by poisoning
Out-on-the-limb Mirwaiz
10/1/2014 11:42:50 PM
Rustam JAMMU, Oct 1: One would really appreciate the flood-hit Kashmiri Muslims if they say - in fact, they are saying - that the entire Government collapsed and went dysfunctional in flood-ravaged Kashmir when the people needed it most. They would also be right when they would say that Ministers, bureaucrats, police, corrupt Flood Control Department, State Disaster Response force and other agencies of the State Government left the stranded people in the lurch or to die in the flood waters. After all, it is a fact that many Ministers, bureaucrats and police official of all ranks either fled way to safer places or cared for their own self and their families. But it is disgusting when Mirwai...

Opposition to the move
10/1/2014 11:29:15 PM
Neha JAMMU, Oct 1: Is Jammu and Kashmir Governor Narinder Nath Vohra on his way out? If some reports emanating from New Delhi are any indication than the removal of Vohra appears imminent. These reports have upset certain elements n the Kashmir valley and they have urged New Delhi not to remove him at this point in time. The pro-Vohra elements have advanced several other arguments to persuade the Government of India to not appoint a new Governor in Jammu and Kashmir. For example, they have ...

10/1/2014 11:29:00 PM
