12/31/2014 11:18:04 PM
Fazal Khan Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Dec 31: People's Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti hinting at the possibility of her party joining hands with the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) to form the next government in Jammu and Kashmir has punctured the grand alliance balloon, the idea mooted by the senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad. Mehbooba Mufti, leader of the PDP, which has emerged as the single largest party with 28 MLAs in the 87-member Assembly, after meeting Governor N N Vohra said the "decisive but divided" mandate in the state was both a challenge and opportunity for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has been talking about development. "For NDA government, it is a big responsibility. For Modi, it is a big responsibility. Jammu and Kashmir has been the biggest challenge for any PM right from Nehru till date," she told reporters. The PDP chief also referred to the steps taken by the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and expressed dismay over Congress led...

Neha Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 31: Separatist-turned-politician and writer of the anti-India book, Achievable Nationhood, Sajjad Lone, whose party won two seats in the Assembly elections has also jumped on to the bandwagon of those in Kashmir and outside who have rejected the demand in Jammu province for Chief Minister from this economically neglected and politically marginalized region. Despite claiming that they enjoy support of many independents nothing concrete has come out so far. It is indeed a herculean task for the BJP lead...
