JAMMU, Nov 24: With notification for five phases already issued and most of the parties having declared their manifestos and candidates, the electioneering has fast picked up across the state; parties are locked in tough contest with rivals but there is one party which is apparently fighting with itself –Congress.
Despite Amarnath land row which made a huge dent into its image and organizational stability, the Congress was still a force to reckon with but only it could have controlled its ‘House’. After facing an embarrassing rebellion in first two phases, the party is poised for stiffer challenge in the subsequent phases posed by its own men.
The tragedy of Congress is that it’s all Jammu and Kashmir related decisions are taken in New Delhi based on ‘inputs’ which may be mere bad mouthing of one faction of party against the other and vice versa. JAMMU, Nov 24: In a genius bank robbery case, Srinagar Police claimed to have arrested an official of the private banker HDFC bank among others and busted a burglary racket which engaged in systematic duping of an account holder of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank.
Senior Superintend of Police Srinagar Syed Afadul Mujtaba said the Maisuma Police Station had received a complaint on November 15 from the Amira Kadal Branch of Jammu and Kashmir Bank that one Yasir Ahmad is trying to withdraw an amount of Rs, 40000/= (Forty Thousand) fraudulently from an account No. CD6397 of geo-Soft of J&K Bank Amira Kadal Branch Maisuma.

NEW DELHI, Nov 24: In the backdrop of positive atmospherics recently, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will undertake a four-day visit here from Wednesday during which the two sides will review the Composite Dialogue and consider more confidence-building measures.
Qureshi will hold talks with External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee on a whole range of issues including terrorism, Kashmir, Siachen, Sir Creek, trade and Chenab river water sharing.
After opening the Line of Control for trade last month, the two sides are expected to look at more CBMs like expanding the pilgrim places that can be visited by people of the other country.

SRINAGAR, Nov 24: PDP President Mehbooba Mufti was among 103 candidates who filed their papers on the last day of nominations today for the 11 seats spread over Pulwama, Shopian and Kathua districts going to polls in the fifth phase of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir on December 13.
With this, the total number of candidates in these assembly segments has risen to 208.
Besides sitting MP Mehbooba Mufti who filed her nomination from Wachi constituency in Shopian district, other prominent candidate who filed his papers today was senior Congress leader and sitting MP Lal Singh (Kathua), the sources said.
