New Delhi, March 16: With the spat between Party President Rajnath Singh and general secretary Arun Jaitley seeing no end, the RSS has now intervened to ease the situation.
As per sources, RSS general secretary Suresh Soni called up Jaitley late last evening to find a solution to the stand-off.
Jaitley is reportedly miffed Singh over the appointment of Sudhanshu Mittal, a businessman known for his high connections, as co-convener of North-East Affairs and is said to have registered his protest on the issue to the party leadership.

Jammu, March 16: Alleging harassment by two Special Police Officers (SPOs) of Jammu and Kashmir Police, a 20-year-old woman attempted self-immolation at Lohai Malhaar village in Kathua district.
The victim, identified as Shahnaz Akhtar, daughter of Mohammad Akhtar, a divorcee, suffered 90 per cent burns. Before felling unconscious, she accused two SPOs of intimidating her for the last few months to make her marry one of them.

The one-member committee, entrusted with taking action on the recommendations of the SHRC, has been set up by the state's Home Department and is headed by the Financial Commissioner, Home.
