Contrary to the prescribed recruitment ruled, the adhocism in appointments of lecturers in the state’s two primer medical institutions,’ to adjust the favorites and blue eyed boys, goes on unabated.
If the sources are to be believed the so-called selection committee for empanelling the candidates for contractual appointments for the post of Consultant/Lecturer is working over night to complete the formalities thus making mockery of an autonomous and constitutional body empowered to make selections for the posts.
While on one side the PSC, the recruiting agency is sleeping over filling up the vacant posts, on the other the backdoor appointments of the blue eyed boys for different departments, in both the medical colleges of Srinagar and Jammu has become a routine affair.

After a long lull, a fierce gun battle between militants and security forces took place on Sunday on the outskirts of summer Capital of Jammu and Kashmir in which one LeT Divisional commander and four security cops were killed and two others were injured seriously.

The Jammu and Kashmir government today ordered suspension of 19 officials of different departments for remaining absent from duty.
Official sources said Deputy Commissioner (DC), Bandipora, in north Kashmir received a complaint that some employees of different departments were not attending duties regularly in the district.
The sources said the DC, accompanied by other senior officers, conducted a surprise inspection at different government departments, including Irrigation, Education and Block Development Offices in Sumbal and Sonwari.
