In the wake of a case of fragging near the Vaishnodevi shrine, CRPF on Wednesday shifted Inspector General J C Dabas and attached him with the force headquarters at Delhi.
"Dabas was shifted from the post of IG CRPF of Jammu zone and attached to CRPF headquarters in New Delhi for failing to implement several measures inorder to bring down the level of stress among jawans," official sources told PTI.
The jawan Veerander Singh had a verbal duel with Inspector Snoobi, the Company Commander, after which he opened fire from his service weapon critically wounding him and constable Parveen Kumar on Monday. They later succumbed to injuries.

As the non-functional ventilator in over-crowded Emergency ward of Government Medical College Hospital Jammu is threatening many lives, officials are planning to procure more `oxygen' for the hospital, which is being upgraded to AIMS level.
Sources said that only three ventilators out of seven were available in GMC as four of them were out of order and awaiting attention of the concerned authorities. "We are not able to meet the requirement due to heavy rush in the hospital and we have only three ventilators available with us", a senior doctors posted in the hospital told NAK, on the condition of anonymity.

In a massive summer chase against militants, the security forces today eliminated three top commanders of the Hizbul Mujahideen and killed two other ultras in two separate encounters.
This is being seen as major set back to the pre-poll revival activities of the Hizbul Mujahideen and is a follow up to the killing of several top commanders in the past few months.

Statistics say that the terror focus has now left Jammu and Kashmir and reaches North Eastern India but the indicators suggest that this state continues to be a target of surprise violence and the fast approaching election year may be a renewed security challenge.
The North Eastern states recorded 1,489 incidents of insurgency-related violence in 2007 while Jammu and Kashmir recorded about 900 incidents, according to the latest report titled, Status Paper on Naxal Activities, prepared by the ministry of home affairs.
