Bashir Assad Jammu, Feb 5: With the incumbent Chief Secretary, Madhav Lal appointed Secretary, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) in the Union Government, decks seem to have been cleared now for Parvez Devan to take over as the next CS to the Jammu and Kashmir Government, according to sources. Madhav Lal, a 1977 batch IAS officer of Jammu and Kashmir cadre has been, according to sources, shifted and will now be Secretary to Ministry of MSME, replacing Vivek Rae. However, official sources declined to comment on the issue. But the State Government has already conveyed no objection to Government of India in sparing any top job for him. Lal was empanelled as Secretary to Government of India last year and has been keen to move out of the State. However, he had to wait for a suitable position to fall vacant in the Centre. Meanwhile, rumors were rife in the Civil Secretariat today that Jammu and Kashmir Government has opted for 1977 batch IAS officer, Parvez Devan who is presently Secretary in Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and is the second senior most officer...

J&K Bank Q3 profit jumps 36% YoY to Rs 289 cr

Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 5: Jammu and Kashmir Bank 's (J&K Bank) third quarter net profit rose by 35.7 percent year-on-year to Rs 289.4 crore, sending shares nearly 4 percent higher intraday. Meanwhile, net interest income jumped 31.8 percent to Rs 594.2 crore from Rs 450.8 crore during the same period. Gross Non-Performing Asset (NPA) increased to 1.61 percent as against 1.59 percent QoQ whereas net NPA declined to 0.14 percent as against 0.16 percent QoQ. Provisions against bad loans were Rs 22.4 crore in October-December quarter, up 23 percent compared to Rs 18.2 crore in July-September quarter.
