The comeback has become talk of the town both in Jammu and Srinagar cities. Azad has begun taking keen interest in the affairs of Jammu and Kashmir Congress since the day Congress suffered defeated in the UP Assembly elections. Azad had remained, by and large, away from Kashmir affairs after his return to national politics in 2009.
Azad took everybody off guards when a few days back he blasted the State Government for ignoring the developmental projects taken into hand by him as Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir between 2005 and 2008. National Conference, which is leading the Government in coalition with the Congress, is reading too much in Azad's frequent Kashmir visits and his statements.
"They (NC leadership) virtually feel to have been put on notice by Azad", said a keen observer. The recent public outcry by National Conference's loud mouthed ...

| | State needs police chief who can growl and howl | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 25: Though police circles christen it as local versus non-local issue in the race for the post of DG police there is nothing like local in the tussle. Hence the tussle for the top post has boiled down to the IPS officers belonging to the J&K cadre and the one belonging to the non-state cadre.
The Union Home Ministry has recommended a 3-member panel of senior IPS officers to the State Government for selection to the DG post. These officers are Arun Choudhary (1977 batch, Bihar cadre) Special Direc...

It's true that the nation between 1953 and 1975 witnessed an appreciable process leading up to closer Constitutional and political integration between the State and New Delhi, with the State being brought under the purview of hundreds of Central laws and institutions. But it's also true that the process was smooth and voluntary. There was no bitterness and animosity. There was no rancour between New...
