| | Central University: a non starter in Jammu | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, May 20:-
While the Central University in Kashmir has become a reality with infrastructural facilities taking the shape on high pace, the Jammu central varsity is a non-starter. It got mired into a controversy as to who will be the Vice Chancellor. Those who struggled for a central university in Jammu think it their right as to who should head it and this is perhaps the reason for the project getting delayed. Ambitions of some and prejudices of many can be attributed to as the main reason behind the delay in, what could have been, a temple of learning for the youngsters of the Jammu region.
... | |
| | | Rahul Sharma, (Physics Department, JU ) | | This issue offlate has attracted the attention of the masses. The academic session of the rest 15 universities has already started, including the Central University in Kashmir, but it is irksome that the Jammu central university is still on papers only. It is for the benefit of the students, so this issue should be solved at the earliest.
... | |
| | | Rattan Singh, (Hindi Department JU) | | The politicians have unnecessarily politicized this issue. The establishment of the Central University is beneficial for the students of the Jammu region. There is no need of undue politics over this. The students of Kashmir are already benefitted as the Central University is working over there, so the people should come forward to solve this issue at the earliest.
... | |
| | | Rakish Sharma, (Education Department, JU) | | The students should come forward and put unanimous effort to solve this issue. Students have the power to solve any problem, then why not to fight when something is for the betterment of the students. We cannot say that only politicians are responsible for the delay. Even the people are equally responsible and especially the students. The need of the hour is that the students should come forward and make efforts to get the Central University established in Jammu region at the earliest.
... | |
| | | Pardeep Singh (Student) | | We can say that again it is discrimination with Jammu region and now the suffers are the youngsters, the students who are the future of the society. It would be right to say that always the politicians try to give a political angle to every issue, but the establishment of Central University will help the student’s fraternity to a great extent. So we should put efforts to get the university established in Jammu at the earliest rather than creating politics over it.
