Goni reacts...... | | |
Early Times Report
Jammu, July 17: The man under cloud Mohammed Aslam Goni expressed surprise over the leakage of report to the press and said that it is an aim to malign my image and scuttle the probe initiated by police.
Talking to Early Times, Goni said "I do not know what report they have prepared and where they have submitted it." He added "If what you are saying is content of the report, I would fight it in the court of law. It is an attack on my person by a fringe group whose own past is murky. I have absolutely no knowledge about this report. And how can you accuse a person without listening to his version. They are biased and represent a particular group in JKCA."

| | Appalling conditions at Amarnath yatra, pilgrims at grave risk | Who will restore its sanctity- SC, SASB or Govt? | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 17: Thanks to judicial activism in India, a hope has been kindled for improvement in the appalling conditions of Amarnath pilgrimage in near future. The highest echelon of judiciary has slammed the Government for "not taking any effective and appropriate measures for protecting the life of thousands of devotees …". A very strong observation, indeed.
Friday's intervention of Supreme Court in the pathetic conditions of Sri Amarnath pilgrimage has at least knocked at the knuckle of the State Government and the Governor headed statutory Sri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) which in a damage control mode, have rushed a high level team led by Health Minister to have f...

| | Obama snaps separatists' oxygen | | |
Early Times Report
Jammu, July 17: Its the end of road for separatists to raise Kashmir issue bogey at international level. US President Barack Obama's assertion that no outside solution to Kashmir issue is possible, the US President has not only turned the table but has virtually snapped the oxygen of separatists.
This statement shouldn't be seen as a U-turn of US policy on Kashmir, but is an outcome of post 9/11 changed world, which started moving away from separatism and terrorism and started gravitating towards India, which has started as major power in the world.
Obama's statement should also been seen in the context of him asking Indian Government to open doors in many sectors t...
| | Hats off to Randhir Singh | | |
While certain disgruntled elements are hell bent to cause hindrances in the construction of Shaheed Major Akash Singh Dwaar, within their locality, there is a political party that had urged the State Government to name the fourth bridge on river Tawi after Major Akash Singh. The party is none other than the Jammu and Kashmir Nationalist Congress Party. Its State unit president Thakur Randhir Singh had in September 2009 demanded to name the fourth bridge on river Tawi after the said martyr. Pertinent to mention here that at that time Singh had stated that "Major Akash Singh was a brave officer. He sacrificed his life, but did not allow Pakistani militants to enter this side. We urge the St...
| | Unfinished Shaheed Maj Akash Singh Dwaar awaits Omar's quick look | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 17: In what could be described as utter disrespect to a valiant Army officer who sacrificed his life while defending nation at border, certain "petty" politicians including a police officer known for his close proximity with Congress stalwart Ghulam Nabi Azad are acting as stumbling blocks for setting up of a well deserved memorial in the name of Major Akash Singh.
Ironically, the story leads to Shiv Nagar locality, Ward No 33 of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) here, where semi-furnished memorial gate stands and awaits a green signal of higher officials of JMC to get the same completed in the name of Shaheed Major Akash Singh Dwaar. The semi-furnished gat...

| | Sordid saga of New Delhi's 'no' to Soz's Vice-Presidential candidature | Look who did what behind curtains! | | Syed Junaid Hashmi
Jammu, July 17: With Congress announcing to repeat Hamid Ansari as its Vice-Presidential candidate, Father-son duo of Farooq and Omar Abdullah heaved a sigh of relief. They celebrated success guardedly.
The reason is not too secret. They made Prof. Saifuddin Soz clandestinely, their former party men who disobeyed Farooq's dictate, voted against BJP-led NDA Government in 1998 resulting in fresh Parliamentary elections, joined Congress and rose to become not only a Union Cabinet Minister but also President of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), cut a sorry figure after his name appeared in several national leading dailies as one of the strongest contende...

| | Cong rubbing salt on nation's wounds | Reviving Indo-Pak Cricketing Ties | | Rustam
Jammu, July 17: The Congress-led Government at the centre is insensitive. In fact, it is outraging the nation's sentiments; it is rubbing salt on its wounds caused by the Pakistani terror. The Congress has been going against the national mood, particularly since 2009, when Prime Minister Manmohan Mohan Singh shocked the nation by resuming dialogue process with Pakistan, epicenter of global terrorism, and endorsing Pakistan's two highly mischievous suggestions: terror and dialogue must go hand-in-hand and role of India in subversive activities in Baluchistan. New Delhi had stopped talking to Pakistan after the 26/11 terror attacks in the financial capital of India, Mumbai, which had ...

| | Interlocutors' was Musharraf's language: Sangh Parivar | Delhi Dharna | | Neha
Jammu, July 17: The Sangh Parivar has, it seems, made up its mind to educate public opinion against the interlocutors' report on Jammu & Kashmir. The way it has been organizing debates and seminars across the country on the interlocutors' report during the past few weeks is an indication. The Parivar has organized seminars in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangaluru, Chandigarh, Jammu, Delhi and several other major towns. Those who took part in these seminars and debates and those who spoke on the interlocutors' report left none in any doubt that it was imperative to throw out the report root and branch, as it negates the very Constitution of India and renders the 1994 Parliamentary resolution o...
