Recently, the Vice Chancellor okayed the "Single Candidate Interview" of the wife of a senior most Professor and sister-in-law of the Registrar. As per the practice, the University had to re-advertise the post of Professor in Botany Department for which the sister-in-law of Registrar had applied, as she was lone candidate. But, setting aside the past practice, Prof Ishar decided to go for single candidate interview hence paving the way for her unopposed selection. Sources disclosed that Prof Ishar had also been generous enough to his Special Secretary Jai Kumar Sharma. He was Joint Registrar (Finance) when Prof Ishar assumed the charge of Vice Chancellor. Pot calling kettle black!
1/7/2013 1:31:17 AM
Syed Junaid Hashmi JAMMU, Jan 6: Within days of his retirement, ex-IPS officer Javed Makhd-oomi has turned messiah, shot off a grumbling letter to Governor N.N.Vohra leveling serious allegations of 'dictatorship, illegality nd unfairness' against Chair-man of Jammu and Kash-mir Public Service Comm-ission (JKPSC) S.L.Bhat. NC-ANC merger!
1/7/2013 1:16:45 AM

Speculations about the possible reunion of the two families were rife in the first week of December, 2012 when the Sheikh Family was supposed to take a final decision on National Conference Additional General Secretary, Dr Mustafa Kamaal. Interestingly, Kamaal unmindful of the political storm he created by his c...

4th anniversary of NC-Cong coalition govt turns out to be a non event
Nothing To Boast
1/7/2013 1:16:06 AM
EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 6: January 5 should have been celebrated by the NC-Congress coalition with great pomp and show because the coalition completed four years in office, but it, unlike other governments across the country, did not do so. For the coalition, it was a non-event. Since the coalition had nothing to cheer and boast, it thought it better to ignore the fact that it was on this date four years ago it formed government in the state. Even Chief Minister Omar Abdullah yesterday virtually admitted while speaking at a function organized by Rural Devel-opment Department at Tourist Reception Centre (TRC) Ground, Srinagar, to highlight its achievements during the past four years. ...

Soz, Azad hold meetings together in Delhi for '2014 polls'

It has instead begun to come out of its complacent shell and started paying attention to what can be seen as first step towards preparation of 2014 Assembly elections. Sources said JKPCC president Prof Saif-u-Din Soz and Union Health Minister , who is more keen in politics in J&K , who ...
