| | | | Fails to get JK on top of country's corrupt States | | 4 CMs and their `Saga of corruption' | | |

Jammu, Dec 17: A few weeks ago India Today Conclave conferred upon Jammu Kashmir 'the number one state' status in the field of health care in India. This news, not surprisingly, was received with loud jeers and sneers from both skeptics and non skeptics alike. Even health officials' labored smile unbeknown to them turned into a smirk. The government otherwise, most visible in the local tabloids strangely felt shy of taking any credit for this (non-existent) achievement. All this gives credence to a general belief that a little push from the all -powerful Union Health Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad, has helped a lowly placed J&K pip to the post a much deserving neighboring...

It is strange that while the implants needed in surgical operations in Government hospitals across the Valley are provided to the patients free of cost, patients are made to pay through their...

| | | | What has Pakistan Interior Minister's visit achieved? | | | | Early Times Report
new delhi, Dec 17: Pakistan Interior Minister has concluded his tour to New Delhi without making any headway in the relationship between the two countries. The day he landed here Rehman Malik said his country needed sufficient evidence against the people India believed were harbouring in Pakistan after masterminding terror strikes in India.
The Mumbai attacks are one glaring example of cross border terrorism that was not only hatched in Pakistan, but the masterminds based in that country guided minutest details of the terror strike when it was happening in Mumbai. The fact is that those who refuse to see clear and irrefutable evidence will always continue to deny it ev...

| | | | Shah, Geelani on same page | | Mirwaiz's Pakistan Visit | | | Neha
Jammu, Dec 17: The self-styled Kashmiri freedom fighters are pulling each others legs and pulling in different directions keeping into consideration their respective personal agendas. That they were not on the same page became clear soon after the secessionist and sectarian violence gripped the Kashmir valley in the late 1980s. They did present a united face for sometime, but the personality and ego clashes, plus their desire to dominate and direct the separatist movement, and their somewhat contradictory stands on Pakistan exposed their weakness as well as weaknesses of the movement. The fact of the matter is that the extremists and separatists like Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Uma...

Jammu, Dec 17: The highly questionable Centre for Dialogue and Reconciliation (CDR), which organized a three-day-long dialogue on Jammu and Kashmir (December 14-16) in Jammu, did what it was expected to do and it could do it because most of those who took part in the perverted dialogue were those who had been carefully selected by the organizers funded by some agencies. The case in point is the resolution the participants adopted yesterday which, among other things, said: "There are three principal stakeholders of the process--- India, Pakistan and the people of Jammu-Kashmir on both sides of the LoC. The divergence in political opinion in Jammu and Kashmir can be overcome through ...
