| | `Extension to retiring officials is an unpardonable sin' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 31: Even as unemployment remains a major problem in the state, extension in the services of bureaucrats is perceived by the saner elements as an `unpardonable sin'. Normally a person, who appeases the government, a minister or an influential politician is blessed with extension. Or to put it plainly, a person who dances to the tune of his masters holds office even after his retirement.
Extension in lieu of meritorious services is no problem. An honest officer who works for the welfare of the country and the people may be considered for extension. But, when it is given as a reward for a `mischief', the problem starts.
Extension of some bureaucrats in Gujra... | |
