PSC breaks law for Law Secretary’s son | Two IAS officers add a feather to SL Bhat’s cap as the last nail in PSC’s coffin
Their advantage: A Government that barks on corruption and nepotism but does not bite
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 14: Secretary of J&K State Public Service Commission (PSC), Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari, and the state government’s Law Secretary, Ghulam Hassan Tantray, are known as fast friends in bureaucratic circles but it is hard to establish that the two IAS officers were in collusion to appoint latter’s son as Assistant Legal Remembrancer (ALR) in the state Law Department by unfair means. The incontrovertible fact, however, remains that the PSC removed two particular candidates from merit shortlist of the Open Merit (OM) category, lowered the cut off from 92 to 91 marks and thus included the Law Secretary’s son among the candidates to be interviewed for final selection on April 16th. If selected, it would be for the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir bureaucracy that a Secretary to Government would be issuing the appointment orders of his own son.
Without questioning integrity and competence of the PSC Chairman and members, documentary evidence in possession o...

It has defeated its own candidate Thakur Ranjit Singh, who has been serving the party since his childhood, and voted in favour of the pro-autonomy and anti-Jammu NC, as also in favour of the Congress, which is equally responsible for all the woes of the people of Jammu province as well as the troubles facing the nation in the state. Seven out of 11 BJP MLAs have voted for the NC and the Congress. One of the BJP MLAs has voted for the pro-self-rule PDP. The poor Ranjit Singh had to content with just four votes. EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 14: Hats off to the Kashmiri leaders, both separatist and the so-called mainstream. Hats off because they act as one man; because they, unlike the divided and confused Jammu leadership, work in unison; because they, unlike the Jammu leadership, take no time in making common cause with one another; because their attitude towards the Dogras of Jammu and the country as a whole is identical; and because none of them ever wishes to lag behind.
Each and every Kashmiri leader sings the same song; each and every Kashmiri leader opposes what the Dogras of Jammu stand for; and each and every Kashmiri leaders abhors the Indian Constitution and ...

Early Times Report
Jammu, April 14: The government seems to have slept over the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council’s (LAHDC) new flag and symbol for political reasons. The civic body created a political storm in the state by adapting a new symbol and abandoning the use of state flag.

One should not go into controversy regarding issuing Dogra certificate. If one get benefit out of this, other should try to seek mechanism to get benefit through other means. Jammu and Kashmir is one state and people should not get divided on one issue to other. The people of both the regions are mature enough that they won’t full in any trap. I hope peace for the whole of state.
