Cabinet approves extension of policy after nod from GOI | Surrendered militants also become beneficiaries of ex gratia relief | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 12: In a major decision soon after shifting of Durbar to summer capital, the government today effected a significant amendment in its policy of giving ex gratia relief to the militancy violence victims by incorporating the surrendered militants in this category. The state cabinet which met in Srinagar after reopening of offices there, approved the amendment which will facilitate extension of the all benefits under ex gratia relief policy which was hither to confined to the families of civilians alone.
Even though the move was under consideration of the coalition government for quite some time , but it took a formal shape today when cabinet gave its nod for implementation. The State Cabinet, which met here today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah formally approved the extension of ex-gratia relief to the surrendered militants in case of their death in militancy related incidents. Jammu, May 12: Carrying laptops, a whole lot of clean shaved and well dressed youth use the Face book to inform the militants about the situation in Kashmir. A local news agency quoting intelligence sources reported today.

JAMMU, May 12: A revenue patwari today allegedly fired at a PCO owner and his brother at Chak Mange Rakwal in Samba, wounding them seriously.
Police sources said patwari Jasbir Singh of Vijaypur and his two accomplices today went to Chak Mange Rakwal and fired at PCO owner Ravi Kumar (18), son of Krishan Chand, from his licenced weapon in his left leg.
As he collapsed, they stabbed him in the already injured leg, the sources added.

Jammu, May 12: While some Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militants today escaped from Lal Draman forests of Doda, they left behind some AK rounds.
Official sources said acting on a tip-off about the presence of LeT militants in Lal Draman forests, security forces launched an operation in the area.
