| Swine flu scare hits Jammu | | Three suspects returned home, GMC ill equipped, doctors unaware of guidelines | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 9: With four deaths in a series, as country feels rattled by the swine flu, the deadly scare has pressed panic buttons in Jammu after third suspect being admitted in the Government Medical College Hospital.
While country is debating India’s preparedness in dealing with the swine flu, the problem is more perverse in Jammu –there are no testing facilities in the town and doctors have openly admitted that they don’t have any specific guidelines on dealing with such cases.
After two students were quarantined on Saturday, another student, returning from Bangalore suspecting to be afflicted by swine fly has been admitted in the GMC Hospital
Since Jammu does not have any testing facilities, their samples have sent to National Institute of Communicable Disease, Delhi for test. Jammu, Aug 9: Availing enough of time to show the much promised change in management of state’s finances, the Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather is all set to present his maiden budget of the current term.

NEW DELHI, AUGUST 09-The Supreme Court upheld Jammu and Kashmir government's decision to impose a complete ban on the entry, use and sale of polythene bags in the state.
A bench headed by Chief Justice KG Balakrishnan, while dismissing the J&K Polythene Manufacturers and Traders Association's plea opposing blanket ban, said the notification in this regard had been issued by the state government and the traders should approach the J&K High Court.

Srinagar, Aug 9: Raising alarm bells ahead of Independence Day celebrations, an unspecified number of heavily armed militants is reported to have sneaked into Kashmir valley from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) during the past three weeks.

Police said that severely injured Rashida Begum was shifted to the District Hospital Rajouri after she sustained brutal head injuries in an early morning attack by the former Minister’s two sons.
