Farooq being asked to quit in 3 days | Delhi takes it as political bribe, not 'party fund' | | Ahmed Ali Fayyaz
srinagar, Oct 5: Even as Omar Abdullah government is likely to remove IG Crime and SSP Crime for allegedly advising two National Conference (NC) activists to change their statement so as to protect members of the ruling family, UPA leadership in New Delhi is asking Dr Farooq Abdullah to stay away from the Cabinet till he comes clean in disputed death of Syed Mohammad Yousuf. According to well-placed authoritative sources, New Delhi has refused to accept the "political bribe" of over Rs 1.00 Cr as NC's "routine party fund".
Paradoxically, the stand taken by Dr Farooq Abdullah as well as Omar Abdullah in a many political controversies---LK Advani, Kamal Nath, Lalit Modi, Shashi Tharoor and, latest, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori---is now being used against the NC top brass. Informed sources in the union capital disclosed to Early Times that in an attempt to prevent advancement of the Srinagar damage to the already beleaguered UPA government at the Centre, Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh were now persuading Dr Abdullah to step down as Union Min...

| | Syed fell to `betrayal' of Abdullahs? | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 5: Braving militant threats and grenade attacks in early 1990 when militancy was at its peak, Syed Yusuf did not desert National Conference like most of his party men. He reposed trust in the party that he loved but fell to a dispensation headed by the closest man in his life.
Syed was a frequent visitor to Sheikh Family. The guards posted at the gates of the Sheikh mansion at posh Gupkar knew him well. He was perhaps the only person who was spared frisking by the guards. According to his brother, Farooq Abdullah frequently invited him and ensured his favourite food at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Syed helped his relatives, friends, neighbors, of course in...

| | Congress causing more harm to Jammu | No Delimitation -- II | | Neha
Jammu, Oct 5: The Congress again became part of the government in January 2009. In fact, it was the Congress that helped the NC capture power in the state and decided to become its junior partner. The people of Jammu province again expressed the hope that the Congress this time would not let down them and that it would fulfill what it had promised in its election manifesto. It was a false hope.
If between 2002 and 2005, the Congress put all its eggs in the PDP basket and allowed the latter to ride roughshod and jeopardize the legitimate rights of the people of Jammu province, between 2002 and July 7, 2008, when the Ghulam Nabi Azad-led ministry fell under the Jammu's pressure, the C...
