Jammu, Dec 2: Triggering fears in the region, India and Pakistan are once again face to face and relations are nose-diving in wake of Mumbai terror attacks. Islamabad, December 2: Close on the heels of the US asking it to lend "absolute" cooperation to New Delhi over the Mumbai attacks, Pakistan today proposed formation of a joint investigating mechanism with India to probe the deadly terror strikes that have sparked tension in bilateral ties.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi made the offer during a brief broadcast on the state-run PTV.
He said terrorists "must not be allowed to undo the gains made" in the Composite Dialogue process towards confidence building between the two sides.

In view of Indo-Pak tirade following Mumbai terror storming, the traders in Jammu and Kashmir were the fears of a breakdown of trans-LoC trade which essentially is a Confidence Building Measure between India and Pakistan for easing ties on Kashmir. Jammu, Dec 2: Patient care was today severely affected in the Government Medical College here and other medical health institutions across the state due to strike of an association of employees.
The Government, meanwhile, has indicated to initiate disciplinary action against the employees to went on strike today despite an understanding that employees will wait for the report of State Pay Committee which was constituted to look into the pay revision issue.

Diphu (Assam), Dec 2: Five persons were on Tuesday killed and 34 injured as militants exploded a bomb in a train and followed it up with gunning down of a Hindi-speaking couple in the central Assam district of Karbi Anglong.
Suspected cadres of the banned Karbi Longri NC Hills Liberation Front (KLNLF) exploded a timed device inside a general compartment of the Tinsukia-Lumding Passenger train as it approached Diphu station around 8 am killing two passengers, including a child, and injuring 35 others, officials said.
The two passengers who died on the spot were identified as Kamal Singh Teron (26) and Raj Debnath (7).
