| Govt departments give damn to GAD directions | | 15 depts fail to forward vacancies | | | Akshay Azad
JAMMU, Mar 9: Giving a damn to the directions of General Administrative Department (GAD), around fifteen government departments have not forwarded the vacancies to GAD for Combined Services Competitive Examination, after a lapse of around two months, since the inception of process.
Sources informed Early Times that the state government had initiated the process for identifying vacancies for Combined Services Competitive Examination in the last week of December 2012, and had asked all the departments to send their vacancies.
"One week time was given to all departments including Police, Accounts and sixteen other departments for sending the vacant administrative level posts to GAD" they said, adding that in the first week only one department including Accounts had forwarded the posts.
Annoyed over the casual approach of departments, the GAD shot a reminder to all departments for sending the posts, sources said, adding that the reminder of GAD made no change in the casual attitude of majority of departments, except Jammu and Kashmir Police and one other, which forwarded... | |

JAMMU, Mar 9: Just a few days after the draft of the police bills was placed by the government in public domain, which of other things includes minimum two-year tenure at every posting to all police officials down to the level of SHO, the police department has in last couple of days has gone into transfer spree.
A day after transfers were effected in Jammu district, SP Rajouri Mubassir Latiffi has affected posting of 16 officials. Couple with other transfers, in a month about 100 transfers have been made. Jammu, Mar 9: Complying the ordess of a Division Bench of the High Court, the police today cleared 92 kanals and 6 marla of encroachment in village Karandi Khurd of Hiranagar tehsil here today. SRINAGAR, Mar 9: In the ongoing Hartals and unrest in the Kashmir valley the railway services are badly hit as the officials say that it has cost an amount of over Rs 2 Crores to the department since the execution of Mohammad Afzal Guru on Feb 9.
The train services in Kashmir were suspended due to the security concern on February 9. Partial train service from Qazigund to Budgam in central Kashmir was resumed on February 18 and the train service between Baramulla to Qazigund was fully restored on February 25.
Since the execution of Guru, railway services have remained closed for at least 23 days starting from Feb 9 to March 9.
