EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Apr 28: Contrary to the widespread speculations in political and bureaucratic circles besides media, there will be no reshuffle in civil administration or Police in the Cabinet meeting being held in Jammu tomorrow. Highly placed sources in the state government revealed to Early Times that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah would be presiding over a meeting of all of his Cabinet Ministers on Thursday to discuss certain administrative matters and policy decisions but ruled out any transfers and appointments in Police or civil administration. There will be absolutely no transfers or appointments of civil and Police officials, sources said. They said that Cabinet was likely to discuss the latest status of the interaction between trade union leaders and the five-member Cabinet sub committee, headed by Minister of Finance, Abdul Rahim Rather. Srinagar: To allow free movement of convoy carrying government officials from Jammu-Srinagar, the authorities have decided to allow only one-way traffic on the 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu national highway. There would be only Jammu to Srinagar traffic on May 1, 2, 8 and 9, a police spokesman said here this afternoon. He said the decision to allow only one-way traffic was taken keeping in view of annual Darbar move 2010. ''It is appealed to the public to kindly cooperate with the traffic police for smooth passage of Darbar move convoy,'' he said. JAMMU: Working since long for Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), police today arrested the militant outfit's three sympathisers from Beli Dugga in Mahore, Reasi. They were identified as Haji Mohammad Hussain, son of Raj Mohammad, Mohammad Farooq, son of Haji Mohammad and Danish, son of Haji Mohammad Hussain, all residents of Belli Dugga. Police sources said they had been providing logistic support, providing eatable items and shelter, to the HM terrorists and were in their close touch. JAMMU: Shabir Ahmad Shah, prominent separatist leader and president of the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party, was hospitalised here Wednesday after he fell unconscious in his prison barrack, an official said. Shabir Shah fell unconscious in his barrack in Kot Bhalwal jail on the outskirts of Jammu. He is having multiple health problems. "He was immediately shifted to a private hospital," the official in the prison department said. Doctors attending to the separatist leader refused to comment on his condition. JAMMU: A retired Wing Commander last night allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison at Adh-Kuwari en route to the holy cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi in Katra town. Identified as JK Sharma, he hailed from Bhopal. Police said he checked in a hotel at Adh-Kuwari last night. When he did not come out of his room this morning, hotel staff got suspicious and knocked at the door. Police said when, despite repeated knocks, he did not respond, the hotel staff broke open the door only to find him lying dead on the bed. EARLY TIMES REPORT KATHUA, Apr 28: Naresh Kumar, who was beaten by the activists of some Hindu organisations here Sunday last for allegedly trying to smuggle cows and other milch animals from Punjab to Kashmir, succumbed to his injuries at the Government Medical College Hospital in Jammu today. Though police had registered a murder case in this connection, no accused had been arrested so far. EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Apr 28: Cold weather continued in the Kashmir valley, where rainfall during the past 24 hours affected the normal life as many roads were flooded with rain water, disrupting traffic and pedestrian movements. However, despite heavy rains, the 434-km-long Srinagar-Leh and 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu national highways were opened for traffic. Srinagar recorded 6.9 mm rainfall till 0800 hrs and it was still raining. The minimum temperature was today recorded at 10.2 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal.
