| Politically sunk, Rana sings Kabir's praises | | “He was epitome of righteousness” | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 13: Strange are the ways of politicians. Most of the times they preach what they do not believe in. NC provincial president for Jammu talked about Sant Kabir saying he was epitome of righteousness.
Well the commoner has never contested Kabir's greatness. It is the politicians who pollute the religious places for petty politics. The NC has the dubious distinction of using religious places for misleading the people. The NC leadership would take every Tom, Dick and Harry to Chrar-e-Sharief shrine for what Kashmiris call Dastarbandi.
Rana has not done anything different by talking about Sant Kabir. People know what motives he has to fulfill. He must have some ...

| | | | Pompous Cong fails to learn the lessons; leadership flaunts its indispensability | | | | Abodh Sharma
Jammu, June 13: Reduced to an embarrassing 44 seats in the entire country, the thick skinned Congress seems to have learnt no lessons as the state unit of the party is still complacent about its indispensability on the state's political stage. Statements from its senior leadership that no Government can be formed in Jammu and Kashmir without Congress are indicative of the fact that the party has not shed its smugness despite unprecedented rout.
Fate that the grand old party of the country met in the recent Parliamentary elections should have taught numerous lessons to its pompous leadership, but if the statements of its leaders are any reflection, the party has yet to come to...

| | | | Defeated Beg virtually writes political obituary of NC | | Party in complete disarray | | | Rustam
JAMMU, June 13: The ruling National Conference is in complete disarray. Its top-ranking leaders are taking on each other publicly.
Even NC working president and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who is surrounded by a "coterie of manipulators and self-seekers", is under attack. The state of affairs in the party could be determined from what senior leaders of the party are saying about the Chief Minister and those few who ran, and continue to run, the Kashmir's premier political organization. So much so, a senior leader of the party, who is also considered ideologue of the party, has virtually written political obituary of the NC. He may be thrown out of the party. To start with, he a...

Neha
JAMMU, June 13: Jammu & Kashmir is one of the 29 states of the Union. It is not the parental estate of Syed Ali Shah Geelani. Nor is it the personal fiefdom of any other Kashmiri. Jammu & Kashmir is legitimately Indian. The people of Jammu & Kashmir have all rights all over India as the rest of the Indians have all rights in this state. It is disgusting that we have bigots like Geelani in Kashmir who are being allowed by the law and order authorities and the executive to make irresponsible statements and outrage the sensitivities of the minorities. Their place should have been behind bars, but they are roaming about freely and preaching not only anti-minority views but also preach...
