SRINAGAR, Jul 11: Even as Dental Surgeons like Dr Samina Akhtar were "appointed" during Governor N N Vohra's rule in the second half of year 2008 and hundreds others in five previous years, Health Department's appointment scam touched its zenith in the last three years of Omar Abdullah government. A large number of beneficiaries were fraudulently appointed during 2010 and 2011---parallel to the young Chief Minister's celebration of the 'Year against Corruption'! Over 300 men and women are estimated to have been "appointed" on Class 3rd and Class 4th vacancies against cash payments, ranging between Rs 1.00 Lakh to Rs 2.00 Lakh, during this period.
Nearly 40 officials of the Department of Health Services in Kashmir and Jammu, as also over a dozen officials of the Department of Finance, were identified by various complaints, reports and inquiries as the key actors in the fraudulent appointment mafia. JAMMU, Jul 11: Illegal construction of tube-well over custodian land, engagement of more than 644 time-bound and ITI trained workers coupled with purchase of motor winding material from non-existent firms is what officials of PHE samba have resorted to during the last 7 years.
Officials have manipulated records and have remained so far untouched. According to official records available with Early Times, PHE division Samba has installed a tube-well at village Sungawali in block Ghagwal of Hiranagar sub-division in Tehsil and District Samba. Sources said that custodian department has not been informed officially about the occupation of land by PHE.

Jammu, July 11: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had once again raked up the bogey of Article 370,which grants special status to the State, which many view infringe up the rights of Centre for pan-Indian law and a complete one singe nation.

SRINAGAR, July 11: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said hardline Hurriyat Conference leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani was misleading people on return of Pandits to the Valley.
Addressing a rally here on the 12th death anniversary of his grandmother, popularly known as Madr-e-Meherbaan, Omar challenged Geelani to raise his voice against the settling of Pakistanis in PoK.

After recovering the bodies of all the 6 members including that of Bollywood starlet Laila Khan, Mumbai Crime Branch sent them to forensic experts for DNA profiling to confirm identity of the deceased.

Jammu, July 11: Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani seems interested in streamlining his ties with Jama't-e-Islami. He supported the Jama't dress advisory for tourists even as the organization issued a clarification that it was misrepresented by the press on the issue.
Interestingly the Chief Minister also issued a word of support. He said the media made it an issue otherwise there was nothing wrong with the Jama't advisory.
