| Massive changes in NC party structure Omar announces political arrival, hands over party to closest aides | | Nasir to look after Kashmir, Rana Jammu | | | Syed Junaid Hashmi
Jammu, Jan 15: To quell dissent, prevent rebellion and announce beginning of a new era, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has brought about sweeping changes in party structure of National Conference (NC).
A loud and clear message of the beginning of Omar's era has been sent out to the entire cadre of National Conference (NC). By assigning two of his close aides, Devinder Singh Rana and Nasir Aslam Wani, the politically significant task of looking after the party rank and file for the next one and a half year, Omar has send a strong message to the older guard to either perform or perish.
It has been said loud and clear that no non-sense would be tolerated neither would the office of Chief Minister give ear to the complaints against any of the party functionaries or the ones who have been inducted in the party afresh. Chief Minister had parted away with two of his closest confidants but not without seeking heavy assignment for them from the NC patron. Observers feel that the two would continue to call the shots both in the Government affairs as well as in the party.
