Amidst voices of discord from various artists and theater groups, the fortnight long Jammu festival is all set to take off opening new vistas of cultural reflection at the micro level across Jammu region.

Congress veteran and Health Minister Mangat Ram Sharma was today hospitalized after he fell unconscious at a function.
Sharma was attending a function of a cricket team of medicos at Bakshi Nagar when he fell unconscious. He was immediately rushed to the nearby Government Medical Hospital for examination.
A team of doctors was immediately summoned which examined Sharma. He was later moved to the cardiac care unit of the hospital for monitoring. Though it was initially apprehended that Sharma might have had a cardiac congestion but the doctors ruled out any such thing. They said that he fell unconscious due to over-exertion.

Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf will administer oath of office to a 24-member federal cabinet headed by Prime Minister Gilani on Monday.
The Prime Minister's Secretariat is learnt to have sent a summary in this connection to President Pervez Musharraf through the Cabinet Division.
According to the Cabinet Division, 11 out of 24-member cabinet will be from the PPP, eight from the PML-N, two from the ANP and one each from the JUI-F and the FATA.
The News said the list was finalised on Friday with the approval of PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif.

Conceived and designed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the chilly powder grenades on the one hand will achieve maximum success and on the other hand may silence the human rights activists as militants will land in the hands security forces alive and not killed.

Opposing suggestions that the Kashmir issue should be "deep frozen", National Conference president Omar Abdullah on Sunday claimed that PPP chairman Asif Ali Zardari's stand that Indo-Pak ties should not be held hostage to the dispute had little support in Pakistan and J-K.
