Allegations of mismanagement, haphazard planning
‘PWD takes up works without following codal formalities’; pleases blue eyed

Sajad Tufail Doda | Apr 22 Alleging mismanagement and plundering of crores of rupees in a haphazard manner, a demand is being voiced for a probe into the works taken up in the district without following the formal codal formalities. Majority of the works are reported to have been allotted by the engineers to the kith and kin on commission basis. Gross violation of rules and procedure is alleged to have made by AEEs, JEs & EXNs of R&B department Bhadarwah. The cursory glance of the allegations reveal gross violation of rules, procedure and financial irregularities in execution of various works in Bhadarwah R&B department. About 80% works are being done departmentally through their special agents, i.e. kith and kin and blue eyed boys by ignoring all norms, rules, regulation and procedure and 70% of the works was allotted to one only firm, a contractor alleged. The Department had invited tenders for construction of a road. Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 22 Vijay Kumar Gupta s/o Manga Ram Gupta r/o Trikuta Nagar, a retired DFO, is crying for justice of which he has been deprived of. Gupta, stepping in Early Times said that he was the main witness of Rs. 80 crore timber scam and it was he who unearthed the scam. He said that during intervening night of June 28- 29, 2005 at Jammu railway station twenty wagons of elicit timber, which was being supplied to army, air force, was un-earthed. Army begins probe in Megha Razdan case

Early Times Reporter Jammu | April 22 The army has launched its own probe into the Captain Megha Razdan suicide case, in which her husband Captain Chaitanya Bhatwadekar was arrested on charges of abetting the suicide. “The 26-infantry division has commenced an independent probe into Captain Megha Razdan suicide case and the involvement of her husband captain Bhatwadekar in it,” official sources said. The army has written to police officials to hand over the details of the case, they said. “An officer has been entrusted with the probe, who would look into the details and probe on the involvement of Captain Bhatwadekar in it,” the sources said.
