JAMMU, May 5: In yet another example of irresponsible squandering of public money by the Tourism Department, 9 years and an unfruitful expenditure of Rs 1.49 crore later, the project of re-development of 9- hole golf course at Sanasar is still incomplete .
Sources told Early Times that on the recommendations of Principal Secretary Tourism Department, Patnitop Development Authority (PDA) had taken up re-development of nine holes golf course at Sanasar as a component of project "Infrastructure facilities ancillary to proposed passenger aerial ropeway under the destination development scheme" sanctioned in 2005 by Government of India (Gol).
They further said that even after incurring an expenditure of Rs 1.49 crore between 2005-06 and 2008-09 on the redevelopment, viz segregating meadows with decorative fencing and construction of alternative footpath and redevelopment of nine holes, procurement of mechanical equipment the intended objective had not been achieved till date.

BARAMULLA, May 5: For security reasons Election Commission of India (ECI) today permitted the Returning Officer for Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency for relocation of 61 polling stations in North Kashmir's Baramulla district.
According to officials, 61 polling stations have been relocated and clubbed for smooth polling in volatile areas. Among the 61 relocated polling booths 37 are in Sopore Assembly segment, 18 in Baramulla Assembly segment and 6 are in Pattan.
