| | Omar rightly visits Dastgeer Sahib but what about Amarnath shrine? | | |
Early Times Report
jammu, June 26: The Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in a rightful manner cut short his trip to London to arrive in Srinagar and visited the holy shrine which was gutted in fire on Monday.
Omar by doing had not only shown respect to much revered shrine but also to the sensitivity of the people and also to the chair.
However, the same CM hadn't ever once visited the Baltal or other base camps where thousands of Amarnath yatris are camping, complaining about mismanagement .
It's not much distance from Srinagar for CM, who had travelled till Leh by driving himself and even has the service of the state chopper at his disposal which had used to reach even SKICC and distri...

| | Azad magic fails to pull crowd | Kishtwar rally cancelled | |
Asif Iqbal Naik
Kishtwar, June 26:- Amid shock and disbelief, the Congress men heard the news of cancellation of Ghulam Nabi Azad's rally at Chowghan grounds.
Azad, it is believed, cancelled the rally following reports that the people had not turned up at the venue to hear him. This was Azad's first public rally at Kishtwar in over 4 years. Though leaders from Soz group were seen roaming around, they did not offer any help.
Interestingly the two factions of the Congress gave two different reasons for the cancellation. Soz loyalists said the rally was cancelled as Sonia Gandhi had directed Azad to rush to the National Capital.
Azad supporters said Sonia had advised Azad to report...
| | No traffic rules for minibuses on city roads | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 26: There seem to be no traffic rules for minibuses on the city roads here. These can stop in the middle of the road to pick and drop commuters, and swerve in the desired direction with impunity from law.
While the minibus drivers do so, the operators of cars and other vehicles are put to inconvenience.
Most of the traffic jams on the congested city roads here are caused because of them. When they stop in the middle of the road to pick, or drop a commuter, a long queue of other vehicles is formed behind them. The blaring car horns have no impact on them. No helpless car operator can move forward till the minibus gets to a side.
Even as traffic police co...
| | Humiliation, odd ordeal to consumer courtesy Aircel | | | KUNAL SHRIVATSA
JAMMU, June 26: Ever since its entry into the telecommunication sector in Jammu Kashmir almost seven years back, Aircel, one of the leading private mobile service providers operating here never miss an opportunity to boast of its 'quality services' but the things at ground reality are completely different.
However, Aircel's claims of providing better services and total satisfaction to its customers it seems is just a bait to woo the subscribers as one Sandeepan of Sainik Colony, Jammu is being harassed for the last one month by the company's franchise for no fault of his.
Narrating his tale of woes to Early Times, Sandeepan, a lecturer in Commerce, posted at SRML Hig...

JAMMU, June 26: Yes, the entire Kashmir Valley has been witnessing perfect peace, particularly since 2011. That peace has been prevailing in Kashmir could be seen from the fact that lakhs and lakhs of tourists from across the country, and even outside, have been thronging the Valley since 2011, thus enriching Kashmir's economy and improving the financial condition of those engaged...

| | Secessionists Ruling The Roost | Believe it or not, but ironically it is fact | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 26: An interaction with many during the last three days in Jammu indicates that most of them had been bemoaning since long the "exceptionally positive attitude" of the custodians of Indian State towards those who had "preached secession from the political and constitutional organization of India". This scribe met people to ascertain their views on the interlocutors' recommendations. Believe it or not, but ironically it is a fact that most of them not only abused and ridiculed the interlocutors, but also questioned the very credentials of the custodians of the Indian State or those who are holding constitutional positions.
In fact, they accused the custodia...
